The Estate fights back!
The Estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has put forward a defence ingenious enough for Sherlock Holmes himself, in a US copyright case that could redraw the boundaries of copyright law, to recognise “complex literary characters,” according to a report in The Guardian. Alternatively, you can read the coverage in The Telegraph. The Plaintiff has still to issue a response but one is to be expected shortly.
